Lotemax Ointment

How is this medication used?

Use Lotemax ointment exactly as prescribed by your physician. Typically, it is applied to the affected eye 2 to 4 times a day. To apply, tilt your head back, pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch, and squeeze a small amount of ointment into the pouch. Look downward and gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not rub your eye.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects include minor burning or stinging upon application, headache, and increased sensitivity to light. Some people might experience blurred vision or a feeling of something being in the eye. Rare but serious side effects include signs of eye infection (pain, redness, severe discomfort), vision changes, or no improvement in condition.

Before using Lotemax ointment, tell your doctor about all other medications you are using, especially other eye medications or products. Avoid using other eye medications unless your doctor approves. Alcohol or marijuana may worsen the side effects like dizziness or blurred vision, so use them with caution.
