Nevanac (nepafenac ophthalmic suspension) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) eye drop used to reduce pain and inflammation after cataract surgery.

How is this medication used?

Shake well before use. Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily beginning 1 day prior to cataract surgery, continued on the day of surgery, and through the first 2 weeks of the postoperative period.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects may include decreased vision, feeling like something is in the eye, increased tear production, and eye redness.

What are the potential interactions?

Before using Nevanac, tell your doctor if you are using topical steroids or other NSAIDs, as concomitant use may increase the risk of healing problems or increase bleeding of the eye.
