How is this medication used?

Apply a thin layer of Aczone to the affected areas of the skin once or twice daily, or as directed by your healthcare provider. Before applying, wash the skin gently with a mild cleanser and pat dry. Avoid getting the medication in your eyes, mouth, or nose.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects include dryness, redness, and peeling of the skin where Aczone is applied. Less common side effects can include oiliness and pruritus (itchiness).

What are the potential interactions?

Interactions may occur with benzoyl peroxide, leading to temporary discoloration (yellow/orange) of the skin or facial hair. It is important to let your healthcare provider know about all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal products.
