How is this medication used?

Indomethacin suppositories should be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The suppository is meant for rectal use only. Wash your hands before and after insertion. To insert, lie on your left side with your right knee up toward your chest. Gently insert the suppository into the rectum, pointed end first and well up into the rectum. Stay in position for a few minutes to ensure the suppository stays in place. Do not use more often or for longer than directed by your doctor.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects of indomethacin suppositories may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and irritation at the site of application. More serious side effects can include severe gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney problems, heart attack, stroke, and severe allergic reactions.
