Stiolto Respimat
Stiolto Respimat is a prescription medication used for the long-term, once-daily, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema. It is a combination of tiotropium bromide (a long-acting muscarinic antagonist) and olodaterol (a long-acting beta-agonist).
How is this medication used?
Stiolto Respimat should be inhaled orally, once daily, at the same time every day. Follow your healthcare provider's instructions for correct usage. The Respimat inhaler must be primed before the first use, and if not used for more than 3 days, it needs to be re-primed by releasing one puff towards the ground.
What are the possible side effects?
Common side effects include sore throat, cough, dry mouth, and sinus infection. Less common side effects may include high blood pressure, fast heartbeat, blurred vision, and urinary tract infections. Inform your doctor if you experience any bothersome or persistent side effects.
What are the potential interactions?
Stiolto Respimat can interact with other medications, such as beta-blockers, diuretics, and MAO inhibitors. It is important to tell your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
